Back or neck pain slowing you down?

Most back and neck pain comes from the muscles, joints and discs of the spine, and often links to posture, lifting, long hours at a desk or behind the wheel, or changes that come with age. It usually improves with the right plan. At AZA we check for anything serious first, then help you ease the pain and get moving again with a combination of medication, physiotherapy and follow-up.

Common reasons for back and neck pain

  • Muscle strain after lifting, bending or a sudden movement
  • Stiffness from long hours sitting, driving or looking down at a phone
  • Wear-and-tear changes in the spine as we get older
  • Pain that travels down an arm or leg, which can come from an irritated nerve
  • Workplace strain and awkward working postures

How we help at AZA

  1. Listen and examine. We ask about your work, your daily routine and what makes the pain better or worse, then examine your spine and nerves.
  2. Rule out warning signs. We check carefully for anything that needs urgent tests or a referral.
  3. Treat, step by step. Your plan may include medication for comfort, physiotherapy at AZA Physiotherapy next door, K-Laser therapy where suitable, posture and work-setup advice, and exercises you can do at home.
  4. Follow up. We review how you're doing and adjust the plan until you're back to your usual routine.

When to see a doctor urgently

Some back and neck symptoms need a doctor's assessment without delay: trouble controlling your bladder or bowels, numbness around the groin or buttocks, new weakness in your arms or legs, a high fever, or pain after a serious fall or accident. Please WhatsApp or come in straight away so a doctor can examine you. If it is severe or after clinic hours, go to the nearest emergency department.

Common questions

Should I stay in bed until it's better?

Usually not. Gentle movement within your comfort helps most back pain settle faster than bed rest.

Do I need an MRI?

Most back pain doesn't need a scan at first. We'll recommend imaging if your symptoms or examination suggest it will change your treatment.

Can my work setup make a difference?

Yes. Small changes to your chair, screen height and how you lift can reduce strain. We can talk you through practical changes for your job.
